Administrative FellowshipThe one-year administrative fellowship at Yale New Haven Health System provides the Fellow with a broad based operational, strategy and project management experience. The Administrative Fellow spends an equal block of time at the System’s Corporate Office and each of its hospitals (Yale-New Haven, Greenwich and Bridgeport) to prepare for a leadership position in systems or hospitals. The Administrative Fellow works with the leadership team of each hospital during the year of Fellowship. The Fellow reports to the Yale New Haven Health System Executive Vice President, Strategy & System Development, but works directly with the CEO and COO of each hospital during the time spent at that hospital. The one-year fellowship program is tailored to the specific needs and interests of the Administrative Fellow and project assignments are made at each hospital and based on initiatives underway during the Administrative Fellow’s tenure at the System. At each hospital, key areas of focus typically include: performance improvement, service excellence, joint venture analyses and strategy development. Applicants must have a master’s degree in health services administration, business administration or a closely related field of study. The program begins in July and applications must be submitted by November 1. For more information about the administrative fellowship at Yale New Haven Health System and how to apply, view the brochure or contact our current Fellow, Lubna Shamsi, via e-mail (lubna.shamsi@ynhh.org). For individuals more interested in operations, Yale-New Haven Hospital also offers a one-year administrative fellowship. The fellowship at Yale-New Haven Hospital provides an opportunity to work directly with members of the senior leadership team to achieve operational objectives.
